In times like these, I have been long wondering what to write about this big tragedy that now, is not more involving only Israeli and Palestinians, but has been lately legittimated to be a big and risky problem for the whole planet. In my life I have been around in a few places in the world, and between them, I have been, as part of a group of photographer, in Israel and in the West Bank at the end of 2003 and later on in Oświęcim, (Poland), more commonly known as  Auschwitz, saddenly famous as the place where more than one million people, mainly Jewish, but also Roma people, omosexuals, persons having mental disability, were slauthered and buried or burned with no shadow of human mercy. “Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil” is the original title of the beautyful book by Hanna Arendt, a sharp report about the complete lack of conciousness of the executioners that in German and across Europe, during Nazism, have killed more than six million people. Harendt, discovers the deep convinction of innocence in the slautherer minds simply for the fact, they said, “they where executing orders”. An abnormity. The complete cancelation of the free will. If I must refer to my sensations, Auschwitz is a punch in the stomach, the saddest place where I have been in my life. But, I am sure, it is a place where everybody should go, once in lifetime. About Israel and the West Bank and Gaza I won’t say much. Both Israel and the West Bank (and Gaza) should be visited, like Auschwitz, at least once in lifetime. The snapshots (all have been taken by myself between the end of december 2003 and the first days of January 2004) say more than any word. I will only add a my deep convinction: when the problems are not managed and solved and someone want to advantage a part for its own advantage, without a compromise, sooner or later the hidden hell that we don’t want to see, and that burns in those places, come to visit us. In this gallery there is a photo of four kids, shot in Ramallah, one of them keeps a white dove in his hands. The hope is that, one day, someone will have the courage to stop hate, quit the bloodbath (to be honest to greater detriment of palestinians)  and let that dove fly free over both State of Palestine and Israel. Of course, now is more complicated, but hope, you know, is last to die.
