Morocco – A moderate way out
At the time when Europe is faced with the return of nationalisms and sovereignisms, which oppose and do not manage migratory flows, and when the fear of the threat of Islamic extremists sharpens the divisions between the Western world and Muslim countries (and not only), Morocco is a beautiful exception. The country, in the past characterized by strong migratory flows towards Western Europe and in particular towards Italy, in recent years has focused on the development of its territory and on tourism with excellent results. The new, ultra-modern airport in Marrakech, which connects the country with Western Europe through the routes of some low-cost airlines, is an example of how targeted and well-considered investments can help to enrich the country perceived lifestyle and attract visitors, contributing to stem the phenomenon of emigration and religious fanaticism. The strong point of this country today is the conservation, enhancement, and display of its cultural values, and tolerance towards Western visitors who are attracted by the natural and architectural beauty visible in the country.
